The World-Famous Diaper Derby

Watsonville, CA – The annual Diaper Derby and Toddler Contest is famous… in Fair world!

The epic event took place on the fairgrounds at Paddy Smith Park at 1pm. It’s a slow-paced race with lots of excitement. (Rules note: any baby who stands up is disqualified). We had fast babies, slow babies and stationary babies… and all of them showed a lot of heart! It was a close call in the end, but first place went to 11.5-month-old Wyatt of Capitola. He finished with a big smile!

The Toddler Contest was over in a flash. These youngsters took off at break-neck speed. (It’s easy when you’ve learned how to use your legs!) The winner is 2-year-old Lazlo, also of Capitola.

They must be training hard in Capitola!
