One Less Day, a Lot More Fair
Watsonville, CA – The Santa Cruz County Fair Board of Directors has voted to shave one day off the annual Fair and use the savings to fill the now five day Fair with more and bigger entertainment and attractions. “It’s hard for folks to get to the Fairgrounds during the week and that’s been reflected in the attendance on Tuesday especially” explained Dave Kegebein, Fair Manager.
The Santa Cruz County Far has been enjoying a renaissance the past few years and part of the increasing success is Kegebein’s philosophy of remaking the Fair in part each year. In keeping with that goal Kegebein proposed, and the board agreed, it is better to have five very full attraction rich Fair days.
The Fair team is working to bring more kids performers and interesting attractions to the grounds as well as bigger entertainment to the main Amphitheater Stage. “Just wait, 2015 is going to have some real surprises, we’re already getting excited about the lineup” said Kegebein. The board also approved an increase in ticket prices for the 2015 Fair to help pay for added attractions and entertainment.
The 2015 Santa Cruz County Fair will be held September 16-20 at the Fairgrounds located on Highway 152 just east of Watsonville. Information on the Fair, and the Fairgrounds - a year round entertainment and event venue, can be found at www.santacruzcountyfair.com
